10 Spring Mowing Checkpoints
Spring is right around the corner, which means it is time to pull your mower out of storage. After sitting all winter, there are a few things you need to check before you jump into mowing your lawn.
- Check the oil, making sure it is at the full mark
- Check the air filter to make sure it is clean and free of debris
- Check fuel filter to make sure it is not clogged
- Check that your battery is free of corrosion
- Check the tire pressure of both front and rear tires
- Check that your blades are not worn, and they can turn freely
- Check and make sure there is no buildup of debris under your deck
- Clean the top of your deck
- Make sure your belts are in good shape and are properly greased
- Only use non-ethanol fuel and/or John Deere fuel protectant
