Get Your Garden Ready

With the winter months slowly creeping away, it's getting close to spring. For many that means getting outside and preparing their garden for those warmer months. We’ve got some to-do's to help you get your garden ready to plant.

1. Pull Weeds: Whether it's new weeds or leftover weeds be sure to eliminate them now while the ground is still soft. More importantly, it's imperative to to remove them before they deeply root. This is the top to do before planting seed.

2. Fertilize Beds: Apply new fertilizer to give your soil the extra nutrients it needs. The key is to add new fertilizer a few weeks before planting to ensure there is time for everything to integrate.

3. Plan: The key to a successful garden is planning. Plan out the veggies or flowers you are going to plant based on a growing schedule. Not every plant grows at the same rate so make sure you are aware of the growing schedule before planting.

4. Make Sure You Have the Right Tools: Like most jobs, gardening requires the right tools. Before jumping into your gardening venture, make sure your tools are equip for the job.
